Living in the UK we get free healthcare but a lot of people still have to pay for dental treatment. Children and certain adults are exempt and get dental care for free. I am one of those people.
I attend regular appointments, but today my youngest daughter was off school as she is ill. Something that happens a lot (She is ill about once a month and back n forth to Drs and hospitals etc). So I decided to give my dentist a call to rearrange only to be told that I would incur a charge with it being short notice. I find this disgraceful. At least I called them to let them know. If I had just not bothered turning up then I would understand completely.
Sickness does NOT have a time frame. You do not get a telephone call or text message a week before saying 'You will ill on this date with this illness' It is absolutely shocking and something needs to be done about it!

'Foundling Wizard' is the debut novel by James Eggebeen.
After reading the title I was intrigued and wanted to read it.
As I read I became engrossed in the story and wanting to find out more that I just couldnt put it down.
The story is of a boy called Lorit and how he discovers his powers and has to leave his home to go on a journey of discovery.
I wont give away the plot but there are lots of twists in it and you feel like you are taking part in the journey with all its ups and downs.
It is definitely a must read, it will leave you wanting more. I am definitely looking forward to reading the sequel and finding out answers to the questions I have.

Another book I recently finished and totally loved is 'Ever Shade (A Dark Faeire Tale #1) by Alexia Purdy. What an amazing read. I was totally enthralled that I had to get the second in the series; which I am now reading :)

With this book you jump in with two feet straight from the off set.
It has you gripped straight away. I absolutely loved it and have gone and downloaded the second, which I cant wait to read.
I highly recommend this to everyone.

Sorry I haven't posted for so long.
On Thursday 19th July I gave my first ever author talk.
OMG I was sooooo nervous.
17 people turned up for it and I read 2 segments from Erin the fire goddess: the beginning and I also gave a sneak peek at the second book in the series Erin the fire goddess: betrayal
As a request from one of the people who attended, the library would now like me to do another one for them in 3 months, but in the evening. They would also like me to do some around Edinburgh and Midlothian libraries too.
Hopefully over time my nerves will stay at home and I will become and old pro at it :)

Name googling
Since publishing my first book I find myself googling my name.
Its been good as I have found some cheeky people out there trying to sell my book on ebay for a huge profit. Luckily after some detective work I have managed to track down their phone number and get them to remove it.
Well today I typed in my name and this came up http://www.midlothianadvertiser.co.uk/community/gorebridge-mum-s-debut-novel-published-1-2391494
I am totally chuffed and I thought I would share it with you lovely people :)

Photographer visit
Today a photographer came round to take pictures of me and my girls.
The article about my book should be in the advertiser this week. I am so excited. I think I will buy lots of copies and send them down to England to friends and family :)
I havent actually wrote in the last couple of days. I have been so busy, and now my eldest daughters best friend has come to stay with us, so things have been hectic. Still my daughters friend keeps asking if i have finished the second book yet. Giving me totally positive vibes :)
